Businessmen and politicians joined forces to promote project Alajuela 2015
Created committees to promote attraction of investments and development in the Central County
Entrepreneurs and leaders of sector public and private Alajuela formed this morning in the Incae working groups to advance the project Alajuela 2015 .
This is a private initiative organized by the Foundation Latin America Possible which aims to increase the attraction of investment, tourism , logistics services , the recovery of urban areas , improving infrastructure, and quality of life in the region .
The working groups that formed were security and peace, capital human and sustainability , equity and welfare , productivity , infrastructure and investment.
The plan was presented by Roberto Artavia , Former rector of INCAE and president of the Foundation Latin American possible , and the architect Rafael Solis . Both started from a previous initiative called Alajuela 2010 . Costa Rica.
This initiative , according to Artavia, had as goals : to motivate society civil to get involved with a development vision, strengthen investment in free zones in the airport area .
That first effort was resumed and renewed proposals , Eg future train for connecting industrial, hydropower development, waste treatment , the creation of tourist attractions, among others.
The meeting was attended candidates for mayor, aldermen , representatives of trade and industry local (Dos Pinos , Doka , Llobet ).
Artavia stressed that Alajuela 2010 this is not an initiative for political hue, but a meeting to “strengthen the social contract ” between citizens and political leaders.
The framework conceptual used to Alajuela 2015 was developed by Incae And part of the concept of sustainable development based on six components: human and social development , output growth , development and innovation in technology , stability and economic dynamism, and transfer to development and innovation.
Among the strengths that were mentioned in Alajuela is the educational level of the population and its strategic position.
” It is not creating a new lobby group , we will not complicate the life of anyone , quite the contrary, to facilitate the development of the county and province , “concluded Artavia.
The architect Solis emphasized the need to review the development plan To promote urban development and production .
Alajuela 2015 aims to encourage other counties to develop similar processes.
